Featured tip for May/June:

Why Is My Check Engine Light On? Leach Service Has Answers
If the light is glowing steadily, you should keep an eye on it for a day or two. If the light doesn’t go off, schedule an appointment with us to get it checked out.
Most of your vehicle's engine functions are controlled by a computer, not surprisingly, called an engine control computer. The computer is able to adjust many engine parameters for environmental conditions, engine condition and even the way you drive.
In order to make these adjustments, the engine control computer relies on a network of sensors to provide data. The computer knows the proper operating range for each sensor. When a sensor reading is out of range the computer runs some tests and may turn on the Check Engine Light.
The check engine computer will also try to make adjustments to compensate for some readings. If it can do so, it’ll then turn off the Check Engine Light.
If the problem can’t be resolved then the light will remain on and you should get your vehicle checked out at Leach Service. Your caring service technician will plug a scanner into the on-board diagnostic port and read the trouble code stored in the computer. The trouble code will give your Leach Service technician a starting place as he diagnoses the cause of the problem.
At Leach Service, we also offer air conditioning service.
Remember - good driving habits (arguably the most effective and least expensive method) and careful maintenance have a positive impact on fuel economy.

SPECIAL ATTENTION ALL BP and BP VISA CARDHOLDERS:
As of March 3rd, the original BP Visa rewards program has changed. You should carefully review the new program and compare its rewards to all your current credit card(s). BP advertises, "The new BP Visa with Pump Rewards gives you, the consumer, a better way to earn cents per gallon rebates on gas when you use your BP Visa card. Two ways to earn - 15cents in cents-per-gallon rebates for every $100 in BP purchases - OR - 5cents in cents-per-gallon rebates for every $100 on virtually all other purchases. Two ways to redeem - Instantly at the pump. Cardmembers swipe their card at participating BP stations and watch their per gallon price drop instantly - OR - As a statement credit. Cardmembers may request to receive a $15 statement credit on future purchases for every $1 in cents-per-gallon rebates. In addition, newly activated accounts earn 25cents in cents-per-gallon rebates for every $100 in purchases virtually everywhere for up to the first sixty (60) days. "
We caution you that the instant discount reduces your earned rewards account and applies to 20 gallons each time used-whether or not you get 20 gallons. At our location for March 3-May 2, 63.1% of rewards value were received by the customers and 36.8% were wasted as only 41 of 877 customers received full value for the rewards points surrendered to the credit card company. One customer must have been thrilled to get $3.74 off per gallon but that custmer only bought 8.213 gallons of gas which meant the $30.72 saved on that purchase took $74.80 of rewards off that customer's earned rewards account. That customer could have called the credit card company to have $45.00 taken off their statement and been very near to another $15 credit.
IF YOU CALL THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO HAVE THE REWARDS APPLIED TO YOUR STATEMENT, PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW YOU ARE TREATED ON THE PHONE AND HOW DIFFICULT THE PROCESS IS.
